The Outdoor Classroom
On Monday morning, the first thing children noticed when they arrived into school was the two new large wooden boxes. One in the small yard and one along the wildlife corridor.
Our recent Cash4Clobber Collection raised £320, and using some of this money we purchased these locally made bespoke wooden planters, compost and vegetables. Our aim is to use these planters as an outdoor classroom, learning how to plant, grow and care for vegetables in our school grounds.
Staff had a busy afternoon on Friday working as a team diligently moving the planters into position, lining them, ensuring drainage holes were in place and emptying and levelling compost before the big planting this week.
Isn’t it fantastic to get outdoors into the fresh air, work together, have fun and as gyms are currently closed a few members of staff were able to take part in weight training all within our school.🏋️♀️ 🏋️Have a look for yourself.😀
