ππΏπShared Education in P4ππΏπ
Term 2 saw P4 getting back into the Shared Education programme with our partner school, Dromore Road Primary School. This was the first time these children had visited each other’s schools post pandemic. We commenced the programme by sharing online books & videos of ourselves & our hobbies. After that, the fun began where we had a series of trips planned between the 2 schools and the surrounding areas.
This year’s programme was based on a book called, ‘The Magic Harp,’ by local author, Declan Carville. During our face-to-face sessions we explored the themes of contentment and enjoying the outdoors, especially in our own locality. We visited Warrenpoint and Kilbroney Parks and all our activities focussed on fun, getting to know each other and creating artwork based on nature.
The children had a thoroughly enjoyable time (even on the occasions when the weather disappointed) and plans are now in place to share letters with our new friends in term 3.
