Rostrevor to Tanzania
What a wonderful event on Friday 1st March!
The Primary 6 class, after a few false starts and with the expertise of Mr Murney, made contact through Skype with their peers in Africa. Sr Mary had previously arranged with Sr Rita and Sr Kate, at the OLA school in Tanzania, to be on standby on Friday 1st March at 11.30 a.m. for the children to make contact. Initially the electricity and internet were down, but after Sheree led us in a few decades of the rosary, Mr Murney was able to make contact by phone. The African children sang a few songs for us, one of which was in Swahili and Primary 6 replied by singing two of the songs the choir sang at the Official Opening. The air was electric with excitement when the children clapped and cheered each other and we look forward to further connections in the coming months.
