Primary 3 have enjoyed spending their literacy time this week exploring the story ‘Our Tower’ by Joseph Coelho. This story has many cross curricular links with our World Around Us topic. It generated lots of discussion about the differences between living in urban and rural areas. In the story some children discover a hidden world, far beyond their tower block, and inside a magical tree. This sparked our imagination as we visualised what a hidden world inside a magical tree in Kilbroney Park might look like! We generated lots of exciting adjectives to describe our worlds including majestical, sparkling, extraordinary, colourful and enchanted. To round off the week we met the author, Joseph Coelho, as we tuned in to a live storytelling workshop!
