Newry Business Charity Christmas Dinner

Earlier this term, we received an email from the committee of the Newry Business Charity Christmas Dinner, inviting nominations for a special award  for any child who had faced a particular challenge this year. We decided to nominate John David in P6 and we were delighted when our nomination was accepted. John David, members of his family and some members of staff travelled to the Canal Court Hotel on Wednesday 6th December where the special event took place. John David was treated like a VIP from the moment he arrived and following a lovely meal and some fantastic entertainment he was presented with a voucher for a holiday. This was a wonderful surprise as John David had no idea what was happening, although he did begin to get a little suspicious as the evening went on. As a school we are absolutely delighted that John David received this special award and we hope he makes many happy memories on his holiday. A huge thank you to the organisers of this fantastic event. One of their aims is that no child in the Newry area goes without a gift coming up to Christmas and this was certainly achieved given the size of the toy mountain which had been built in the foyer of the hotel.
