Hello in There
It’s the 4th May which is hard to believe. Time is flying at a pace for many people, but I am aware of a group in our community for whom time is everything but flying by. That’s the old and vulnerable.
I’m sure most of you have grandparents or relations who have been forced to isolate and who are not allowed to have people visit. During these times they must feel very isolated, vulnerable and afraid.
As you are aware, my mum died in February, just before all this madness began, and now my dad is self-isolating with only me to look at from day to day! I wouldn’t wish that sentence on anyone!!!!😢
I know that he longs for all his grandchildren to be allowed visit. He misses their company, chatter and laughter and especially their hugs of true affection.
With all this in mind I know you have family members that are feeling alone. My challenge to you this week is to design a card and write a note to your grandparents or a grand uncle or grand aunt. I know that such a card arriving with them will lighten their day and week. I’ve witnessed first hand the effect a one page letter had on a man of 95. You would have thought he had won the Lottery 😆.
Copy the link below in your browser window and listen. You could listen with the rest of the family and perhaps they might wish to make a card as well. Just simply saying “Hello in There”.

I can’t wait to see your cards saying “Hello in There” on Classdojo.
