Diocesan Mass for Catholic Schools' Week
The Heads and Deputy Heads were invited to attend a special mass, celebrated by Archbishop Eamon Martin, on Thursday January 30th at the Church of St Terese, Banbridge.
The theme of the mass was, “Living in Harmony with God’s Creation” and we were reminded about our impact on the environment and how we can repair the damage we’ve done.
Archbishop Martin told us about a “Green Wall” of trees being planted across Africa supported by the Society of African Missions at Dromantine. The aim of this reforestation is to try to prevent increasing desertification of the land.
As a gesture, each school was given their own tree to plant in their school grounds. We look forward to the spring when its leaves start to appear and we can see what kind of tree it is.
