Big Schools Birdwatch 2025
17th Jan 2025
What fantastic weather we had for our ‘Big Schools Birdwatch’ this year. Pupils throughout the school had the opportunity to get outdoors to spot the wildlife that visited our school grounds. With Liz Farnon’s expert knowledge pupils were able to identify the various species which landed along our wildlife corridor and in our school yard. We had of course our big birds like hooded crows, Jack draws, magpies, black headed gulls as well as wood pigeons and blackbird, starling and our blue tits, robins, great tits, coal tit and chaffinches. Pupils enjoyed watching as two pied wagtails, waddled and wags their tails across the school yard, however the greatest excitement came some pupils and Liz spotted two bright gold finches. What a great day we all had!Have a look and see.
