🦅 Making Bird Cakes 🦅
Today, Primary Three had a fantastic time creating their own bird cakes using a variety of ingredients. Pupils had the option to include lard, nyjer seeds, sunflower seeds, mixed seeds, and dried mealworms in their recipes. Pupils enjoyed getting active and rolling their lard balls in their chosen seeds. Pupils then reused some old cups as bird feeders and packed in a mixture of their freshly made cakes making sure to provide a branch as a perch for the birds to land on for these tasty snacks. They tied some string to the handles of the cups and hung their fresh produce out for birds to dine on. What a fantastic feast for any bird. We can’t wait to see which species of birds their creations will attract.
