🌟 Assembly Focus: What It Means to Be a St Bronagh's Ambassador 🌟

28th Mar 2025

Today’s assembly focused on what it truly means to be an ambassador for St Bronagh’s. Together, we explored the special traits that make someone a great representative of our school. Our pupils shared brilliant ideas, highlighting qualities such as kindness, manners, fair play, helpfulness, and bringing fun and joy to others.

We were delighted to link this discussion to the actions of our Gaelic footballers, who were shining ambassadors yesterday during their matches. Both teams played with determination, teamwork, and respect, everything we could ask for in representing St Bronagh’s. We’re especially excited to cheer on our girls’ team as they prepare for the County Final next Sunday (6th April) in Newcastle.

We also celebrated our fantastic pupils by presenting our Star of the Week certificates, recognising those who have gone above and beyond in attitude, effort, and kindness.

A special highlight was welcoming Ruairí, our Oifigeach Forbartha Gaeilge from Conradh na Gaeilge Boirche Íochtar, who joined us to present prizes to our talented Seachtain na Gaeilge poster competition winners, maith sibh go léir!

We were proud to recognise Lily, who represented our school with distinction at the Environmental Youth Speak, hosted by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council yesterday. A wonderful achievement!

To finish, we reflected on our PATHS Thought for the Week:
"There is nothing wrong with wanting to be first, but not every time! There is nothing wrong with wanting to be the leader, either. But not every time! It is important to take turns – it’s only fair!"

We look forward to seeing our pupils put this thought into action in the week ahead—showing fairness, taking turns, and lifting one another up.
