St Bronagh's Primary School, Rostrevor

Welcome!

St Bronagh’s Primary School is situated in the picturesque coastal village of Rostrevor overlooking Carlingford Lough. Established in 2006 (following the amalgamation of Convent of Mercy Girls and St Mary’s Boys Primary Schools) we have 32 members of staff and 214 pupils aged from 4-11.

In September 2017 we moved into our new school premises which have been designed and built to an excellent standard. In fact, on Friday 18th May 2018, our school won the Sustainability Award and the Liam McCormick Prize for Building of the Year at the RSUA Design Awards. Also, Mr Paul McMahon from Donnelly/O'Neill, won Project Architect of the Year for his work on our school.

Our staff and governors are dedicated to supporting each child achieve their full potential through the delivery of the Northern Ireland Curriculum. We are committed to delivering a varied programme of extra-curricular activities and we also provide an After School Programme from 2-3pm for children in P1, P2 and P3 year groups.

We have an excellent Eco-committee who work under the leadership of Mrs Downey, our Eco-coordinator. Having achieved our sixth Green Flag in 2024, we have retained our Ambassador Eco-school Status in January 2024, in recognition of the hard work and commitment of pupils and staff since we began our Eco-journey back in 2013.

We work closely with other local schools through Shared Education and Transition Projects and we look forward to mentoring and supporting other Primary and Post Primary Schools in their future Eco-activities.
